ExxonMobil to sponsor DOT International in Houston
Feb. 12 - 14, 2008

PennWell Co. is proud to announce that ExxonMobil will act as host sponsor for the Deep Offshore Technology International Conference & Exhibition (DOT) Feb. 12 -14 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, USA.

This year’s conference, which will be chaired by Todd Stevens, Senior Project Manager, Nigeria Deepwater, ExxonMobil Development Company, includes more than 90 technical papers covering a variety of topics dealing with deepwater E&P operations.

The keynote address for the conference will be given by Ben R Haynes, Project Executive, Africa Deepwater, ExxonMobil Development Company.

The conference theme, “Risks, Resources & Rewards,” captures three key challenges facing the deepwater industry – safely and successfully managing risks, completing projects on time and under budget with limited resources, and assuring profitability in the face of increasing costs and difficult operating environments.

This year’s DOT provides a new program by which engineering students can attend the full three-day event and all technical sessions at no cost through a special sponsorship program with major universities and industry sponsors.

The sponsored-student program has received enthusiastic support from both universities and industry sponsors alike, who see it as a win-win program for both.

The mission of DOT is to provide an annual forum dedicated to the advancement of the deep offshore industry that addresses these technical challenges. The conference provides an unparalleled networking opportunity for attendees to share technology and address issues with experts in their respective fields and to gain an understanding of the changes that are taking place within those technologies.

DOT also encourages the development of young professionals. This initiative has resulted in a growing number of papers authored by young engineers. Newcomers to the industry have found DOT to be an effective forum at which to quickly gain an understanding of key deepwater technologies.

As always, DOT International will bring together the world’s brightest technological minds for a three-day conference dedicated to the sharing of information among industry professionals. In addition we will celebrate our 20th event by sharing technological breakthroughs and industry projections as we look to the future of this dynamic industry.

Join PennWell as we celebrate our 20th event of the industry’s only conference truly devoted to deepwater offshore exploration and production issues. You will not want to miss the networking opportunities as we bring you this extremely focused, international event.
